Lawn Care / Lawn Rejuvenation

Lawn rejuvenation is a key component to maintaining or creating a beautiful lawn to enhance the curb appeal of your residential or commercial property. Over time, and with heavy foot traffic, the soil underneath lawns compacts and causes turf to deteriorate.

De-thatching

Thatch is composed of intermingled layers of living and dead stems, leaves, and roots between the green vegetation and the soil surface. Practically speaking, thatch is an organic material that does not decompose. A thin layer of thatch is normal, even healthy since it retains some moisture in the soil and increases wear tolerance. However, a thatch layer of ½ inch or more prevents air, light, and water from reaching the turf’s root zone. As thatch accumulates, there is a tendency for root growth to occur primarily in the thatch layer rather than the soil. This results in a weakened, poorly rooted lawn and also makes an excellent breeding ground for harmful insects and disease organisms. This entails the removal of dead grass which is restricting oxygen and moisture flowing to the roots.

Core Aeration

Most people are not aware of the benefits of aeration, yet it is one of the most important treatments for a healthy lawn. Aeration helps reduce this compaction and keeps your soil in the best shape possible. This is a process that removes plugs of soil allowing for more oxygen, water and nutrients to be delivered to the roots of your grass.

Top Dressing

This will help fill in those bare or thin spots, giving you a thicker, healthier grass that will crowd out weeds and help prevent new weeds from developing. By adding nutrient-rich compost soil to the surface of your existing lawn, it will bring out a luscious lawn surface

Fertilizing

This process will ensure that your lawn receives nutrients require to enhance thick lawn growth and keeping the lawn weed & pest-free. To maintain your soil’s nutrient level for optimum turf growth, it requires supplements to be added. We typically use a slow-release fertilizer that provides important nutrients and micro-nutrients over a longer period of time. This means there are no sudden bursts of top-growth that require lots of additional mowing. Instead, our granular fertilizer dissolves into the soil slowly, providing just the right balance of nutrients for strong root development and lush green top-growth. The fertilization program includes multiple scheduled visits throughout the growing season.

Over-seeding

By adding new grass seed the density of your lawn will increase further eliminating the growth of weeds.
